We recommend completing Metadata and Keywording prior to uploading.
The more information is contained in that metadata and keywording, the better visibility your photographs will get.
Your metadata, which should contain your copyright details and the title and description of your image, which is understood by social media and search engines to help people find your photographs.
In the
Library
tab, open the
Metadata
panel.
- Click the field next to the sections where you want to add metadata. (Title, Caption, Creator)
- Type the details and information to best describe your image.
To add your Metadata on a Mac:
In the
Photos
app, double-click a photo to view it.
- Click the Info button in the toolbar or press Command-I.
- Click the field next to the sections where you want to add metadata. (Title, Description, etc)
- Type the details and information to best describe your image.
- Click OK.
To add your Metadata in Windows 10:
- Open the folder containing your digitized photos.
- Right-click on the photo you want to add metadata to.
- Click on Properties.
- In the window that opens, select the Details tab.
- Click the field next to the sections where you want to add metadata.
(Title, Subject, Authors)
- Type the details and information to best describe your image.
- Click OK.
When you upload your images to your Pixelrights portfolio, we generate and include your metadata containing title and description, which is understood by social media and search engines.
The filenames for your images are changed but it shouldn’t matter for SEO if the metadata is provided.
SEO will only rely on the file name if it can’t find any other information.
